Something Missing tours Nova Scotia

Something Missing. (Stoo Metz)

The Unnatural Disaster Theatre Co. presents Something Missing on tour in Nova Scotia to May 20.

The play, by Lawson Hannford, is about Chester, who has been dreading Christmas dinner from the moment their mother invited them, according to a press release. Not only have their parents recently divorced, but both their mother, Lynn, and their older sister, Abby, are hell-bent on keeping this dinner exactly as it always has been.

In Something Missing “Chester muddles through this raw and chaotic evening by repeating the many lists they have written for themselves as a way to organize the consistent disorder of their world.”

A hit at the the fringe festival, Something Missing received five audience choice awards in 2024 including outstanding Dramedy and Outstanding Performance (Nancy Kenny).

The play is at King’s Theatre: Saturday May 17, 7:30 p.m., (to purchase tickets: https://www.kingstheatre.ca/something-missing) and The Bus Stop Theatre in Halifax on May 19 and 20, 7:30 p.m.. Tickets are at: ticketowl.io/unnaturaldisastertheatre.

The touring production features an all local cast of August Van Meekeren, Kaitlyn Thompkins and Nancy Kenny.
